Who we are

We are an initiative that stands up for free and independent culture.

We were founded in March 2026 on the initiative of students at DAMU, the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. We are not affiliated with any political party.

What is happening

Licence fees for Czech Television and Czech Radio are to be replaced by the state budget.

The bill passed its first reading at 4:36am on Saturday 24 October. The coalition unexpectedly forced it onto the agenda a day early. The Chamber’s media committee returns to it on 10 December.

Why it is wrong

No safeguards for independence – a risk of conflict with EU law. This is not stabilisation, it is underfunding. The change is far too fast. Regional and emergency broadcasting at risk.

What we are calling for

We stand for independent culture and free media.

We demand transparent and predictable rules for funding culture, independent expert decision-making and protection of artistic freedom.
